After 40 years making sake at a brewery in Fukuoka Prefecture, I received an unexpected invitation to join Matsumoto Shuzo. Upon my arrival, I found, behind the beautiful old wooden exterior, an immaculate state-of-the art facility run by people devoted to their chosen craft, and I was filled with a tremendous sense of hope and anticipation.
